Prerequisites: A Complementary Therapy Qualification
ABOUT THE COURSE: The post graduate course is suitable for qualified therapists [and equivalent] and on successful completion will allow them to practice this holistic treatment on their clients and others. Therapy students and those with a special interest in ENT problems will also be eligible for the course – an attendance certificate upon successful completion of the course can be uprated at a later date.
The course has received accreditation from the GCP and is insurable through GPP, IPTI, BABTAC, AoR, Federation of Holistic Therapies and the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists.
As well as learning how to use the Candles safely and efficiently, participants will also learn a face and neck massage sequence that enhances and reinforces the actions of the Candles.
The format of the course is as follows;
• Students’ registration and introduction to the course
• Theory of the Candles and anatomy and physiology of the ear and inner head
• Demonstration of the whole treatment –application of the candles and massage sequence
• Lunch break
• 30 minute written test paper based on the theory and practical demonstration
• a paired session which is the practical test
• use of the otoscope to view the outer ear canal [time permitting].
Please bring a pen/pencil and paper and a blanket/towel. Students should also bring their own lunch.
Loose clothing should be worn and during the practical work minimal clothing is removed. Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
Because massage will be undertaken, normal standards of cleanliness will be expected, including short fingernails.
It should be noted that the test paper will be based on information included within the course work notes.
It will be necessary for a copy of any therapy qualification to be shown to the tutor on the day. |
