Professional Conduct & Business Awareness

This course is divided into 2 modules which are 3 days each:

The study will include the importance of professionalism and why it is necessary to build up a rapport with the medical profession and other therapists.

Students will be instructed on how to set up and operate a clinic/private practice.
They will understand the laws involved with setting up a practice, acts and their relevance to a clinic situation, the accounting systems required and the main forms of advertising.

Students will have knowledge of how to plan the interior of their own treatment room.

Students taking the exam are expected to complete assignments as part of the course as well as home study and revision.

We offer this course in 6 intensive days 2 modules of 3 days each .

Course contents:

Professional Conduct
Professionalism, ethics, conduct
How to set up and operate a practice
Legal requirements, relevant legislation
Planning the interior of a treatment room
Record keeping, licensing, confidentiality
Building relationships with GP's / other therapists
Business Awareness
Accounting, double entry book keeping, VAT
Business plan, cash flow forecast
Advertising and promotion
Retail, stock control, selling skills
Employing staff, receptionist duties
Sole trader, employment contract

Students are expected to complete assignments as part of the course.

Theory examination - One hour

Please bring with you:

Loose comfortable clothing for theory session
2 Folders: For hand outs to be presented to the examiner
Pen and pad
